
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350° F (190° C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the vanilla extract (and almond extract) and eggs one at a time.
- Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; stir into the butter mixture.
- Mix in the chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are golden. Let cool on sheet for a minute then remove to cool on wire racks.
